It was announced by METI that parts of “About Interpretation of Ministerial Ordinance for Establishing Technical Requirements for Electrical Appliances and Materials" were revised on December 25, 2019.

In this revision, Appendix 10 was revised as follows.

For home appliances with built-in PLC (Power Line Communication), the criteria for the noise intensity has been added to the “About Interpretation of Ministerial Ordinance for Establishing Technical Requirements for Electrical Appliances and Materials" in order to clarify the treatment under DENAN Act.

Under Radio Act, the test method and criteria for the type designation of PLC modems have already been established. Therefore, the following requirements have been added to the Appendix 10, Chapter 1, 1.2 Structure in order to establish the criteria of the noise intensity of DENAN Act to be same as that of Radio Act.

- Electric appliances with broadband power line communication (high-speed PLC) function conform to Article 46-2, Paragraph 1, Item 4 of the Radio Act Enforcement Regulations
