TÜV Rheinland, a global leader in independent testing, inspection, certification, and training services, has announced the launch of its Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Consultancy Services in accordance with the increasingly strict OSH regulations that have come into force in the Philippines.
In August 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act 11058, which strengthens the requirement for compliance with occupational safety and health standards. The law seeks to ensure the safety of Filipino workers from hazards in their work environment.
RA 11058 requires employers to provide a place of employment that is free from hazards, give complete job safety instructions and comply with OSH standards, including the provision of protective and safety devices. Employers who violate the law face a penalty of PHP 100,000 for each day the violation continues, starting from the day the employer or contractor is served with notice.
Accreditation paves the way of helping customers get the assurance that the services offered by a recognized provider are officially recognized and qualified in performing activities that makes the workplace more positive and safe.
TÜV Rheinland Philippines recently attained accreditation as an OSH Consulting Organization from the country’s Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC).
