On 19 September, TÜV Rheinland Malaysia held a client appreciation event, with the inauguration of the latest ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Testing Lab. About 80 business partners and customers attended the event. Customers and TÜV Rheinland key executives got to exchange thoughts on the demand and progress of Malaysia’s testing and assessment market. On the same day, the opening ceremony of the EMC testing laboratory in Malaysia was held. The laboratory will serve the Malaysian market as a world-renowned third party testing and certification body.

The event was graced by guest of honour, Mr. Daniel Bernbeck, CEO of Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In his keynote speech, Mr. Bernbeck shared the history of TÜV and shared in depth on German expertise in technical knowledge. He also further shared TÜV Rheinland’s role in serving the Malaysian market as a German MNC.

According to European Directives, all electrical and electronic products must comply with EMC regulations in order to be marketed in the EU. Which means, an electronic product must remain operational within a certain range of electromagnetic interference (EMI), while its electromagnetic emissions cannot affect the operation of nearby electronic products. The new EMC laboratory adheres to international testing standards, and houses the latest testing equipment. We are able to conduct a myriad of tests for IT products, RF products, medical equipment, AV products, household appliances, luminaries, industrial equipment, Bluetooth products, automotive components, and other products.

The new lab in Shah Alam, Malaysia will integrate and expand TÜV Rheinland’s product-testing capabilities. For manufacturers who must undergo safety and ergonomics testing to meet various national requirements, combining EMC & RF testing will undoubtedly bring greater advantages. In addition, TÜV Rheinland laboratories in APAC and IMEA region will provide additional support whenever needed.
