The TÜV Rheinland Vietnam Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory, located at the Thang Long Industrial Park II in Hung Yen, covers 1,000 m2 of floor space. It focuses on emission, pulse immunity and radio testing, as well as providing full EMC conformity assessment for a great variety of electrical products.

Key features of the new lab include a 10 meter semi-anechoic chamber, a shielded room and a pulse immunity testing room. Plans to extend the facility and achieve full ISO 17025 accreditation are already underway.

“The launch of the new, state-of-the-art EMC Laboratory underpins our commitment to support the industrial development of Vietnam. Our customers have responded positively on the opening of this laboratory and we will continue to expand this facility by strengthening its service capabilities and delivery world-class, comprehensive services to meet customers’ needs,” said Mr. Ralf Scheller, Member of the Executive Board of Management of TÜV Rheinland AG.

“To make its mark in international markets, Vietnam needs an effective conformity assessment scheme to address EMC issues. This new lab will support that, while at the same time providing the resources necessary to enhance the use of radio frequencies and develop new electric and electronic devices,” he said.

As part of TÜV Rheinland’s global strategy for 2016-2020, the Group intends to continue to expand its network in over 69 countries and invest in other potential markets. The goal is to simultaneously support customers and make the TÜV Rheinland name synonymous with laboratory best practice.

TÜV Rheinland has focused on Vietnam for a number of reasons. They include political and economic stability and a continuously improving business climate, which has resulted in an increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) by world class IT companies from Korea and Japan. Located in the heart of ASEAN and its Economic Community (AEC), Vietnam is also close to global supply chains, which enables multinational firms to diversify their manufacturing base in Asia.

“The testing facility that TÜV Rheinland is opening today is important and means a lot for many companies who are going to supply their products produced in Vietnam to the worldwide market,” said Mr. Fujiwara Hitoshi – Executive Vice President & Director – Fuji Xerox.

TÜV Rheinland Vietnam currently provides testing services for Softlines that includes footwear, garment, toys, as well as testing services for Hardlines that covers outdoor and indoor furniture, lighters, packaging, building products and others. In addition, it also provides safety assessments and approvals for vehicles and components, and auditing and certification of management systems.
