On September 5, TÜV Rheinland issued Zigbee 3.0 certification for the LEEDARSON LED Dimmable Bulb. This is the first LED light in the world to be officially Zigbee 3.0 certified and implement Green Power Proxy Basic (GPPB) functionality.

The ceremony witnessed by Yonger Cao (General Manager, North America Market Access, Electrical, TÜV Rheinland Greater China), Shawn Peng (Vice General Manager, Information Communications and Technology, Electrical, TÜV Rheinland Greater China), and Jason Zhuang (Head of smart lighting, LEEDARSON).

A strategic agreement was signed between TÜV Rheinland and LEEDARSON in 2016 to engage in full-scale cooperation on conventional LED lighting, LED lighting products and IOT products. The latest Zigbee 3.0 Dimmable Bulb project represents another milestone in the two companies’ development of smart lighting.

The LEEDARSON LED Dimmable Bulb is the first LED light to pass Zigbee 3.0 certification since it became mandatory and includes GPPB support as well. It represents an important step in the introduction of LED smart lighting to the smart home. The product complies with green power standards, is up to 84% more efficient than conventional incandescent light bulbs, and has a service life of up to 25,000 hours. It offers a smart choice for energy-efficient homes and a high-quality lighting experience.

The Zigbee 3.0 certified LEEDARSON LED Dimmable Bulb also solves a longstanding obstacle – interoperability. The “unification” of home automation, lighting and energy-saving technologies is now finally within reach. Consumers can now easily set up timers or programs that give them remote control over lighting, creating a whole new smart lighting experience.

TÜV Rheinland is an authorized Zigbee product certification testing service developer and provider for the Zigbee Alliance. It is also a member of Zigbee China. TÜV Rheinland’s Zigbee labs provide IEEE 802.15.4 compliance testing, Zigbee compliance platform testing and Zigbee trademark certification testing since 2005. TÜV Rheinland’s Shenzhen Zigbee test lab is now available to provide smart manufacturing enterprises with one-stop localized service. TÜV Rheinland is also the only lab capable of providing GPPB testing in the Greater China region.
