DAkkS, the accreditation body for certification bodies in Germany accredited TÜV Rheinland to be an ISA Security Compliance Institute (ISCI) certification body. TÜV Rheinland authorization to issue certificates of conformance for the ISASecure® control systems cybersecurity certification scheme based on IEC 62443 came into effect at the beginning of July 2017. ISASecure® Conformity Assessment is a standards-based certification scheme that assesses the cybersecurity of control systems and components to the IEC 62443 international standards governing control systems cybersecurity.
“We are excited to be part of the ISA Secure Conformity Assessment (CA) scheme as it further supports the work we are doing with our clients to ensure their systems are both safe and secure,” says Heinz Gall, Head of Certification Body for Functional Safety and Cyber Security at TÜV Rheinland. He continues, “We are proud to be listed on the ISA webpage being able to offer customers this combined service”.

The ISCI is pleased to announce the addition of TÜV Rheinland as a new ISASecure certification body, “With global recognition for excellence and over 100 years of history in standards and certifications, TÜV Rheinland’s reputation is second to none” says Andre Ristaino, ISCI Managing Director. “The addition of TÜV Rheinland adds credibility to the ISASecure control system certification program and expands global coverage.”

Three companies have already benefited from the new TÜV Rheinland authorization. Schneider Electric from the USA, HIMA from Germany and Beijing Consen Technologies from China recently received their certificates for functional safety and cyber security, setting an example in industrial control systems for safety applications. The demand for quality certified products is increasing among end-users and system integrators worldwide. With accredited certification, manufacturers have the chance to remain competitive on the market by confirming the safe and secure functionality of their products.
