Technical Risks and their Financial Implications, from Solar Sharing Session in Malaysia

Together with Malaysian Photovoltaic Industry Association (MPIA), TÜV Rheinland organized the ‘Solar PV Project Development in Malaysia: Project Finance & Bankability’ Sharing Session in Selangor, Malaysia on 22 November 2017.

In this sharing session, a series of eight presentations from Regulator, Lender, Investor, EPCs were lined up for the participants to learn about solar PV project development, specifically in Malaysian context. The topics covered include project development, project financing, private equity or investment, construction, technical and quality aspects, and warranties or insurance.

TÜV Rheinland presented on ‘Risk analysis and control in PV systems’, which includes various risks in installation (e.g. work quality, erosion), and different technical aspects (e.g. safety, yield prediction) that are often not so apparent on financial assessment, but have significant impact to the project profitability nonetheless.
