IMG_2329_editedTÜV Rheinland Middle East certifies DB Schenker for integrated ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 management system standards in 33 locations spread across 10 different countries across the Middle East and Africa.

DB Schenker, a division of the German Rail Operator Deutsche Bahn AG, appointed TÜV Rheinland in February 2019 to certify their management system standards against ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 for a period three years. This regional certification covers 33 DB Schenker sites located in 10 countries namely UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Angola, and Namibia.

The auditing process, which lasted for four months, was kicked off by TÜV Rheinland Middle East in May 2019 from DB Schenker’s regional office in Dubai.

“Despite the challenges faced due to multiple locations, diverse scopes and a tight delivery timeline, our team managed to carry out the auditing and certification process successfully, thanks to Ms. Beena Sajee (Business Field Manager for Certification of Management Systems at TÜV Rheinland Middle East) and the audit team led by Dr. Krishna Bharathi.“ said Mr. Partha Pratim Sengupta, Regional Manager for Certification of Management Systems in India, Middle East and Africa at TÜV Rheinland.

After the audit completion for all DB Schenker sites, the ISO Certificates were handed over by Mr. Andreas Höfer (Regional Executive Vice President Asia Pacific India Middle East and Africa at TÜV Rheinland) to Christopher Smith (CEO, DB Schenker MEA) and Oliver Kluge (CFO, DB Schenker MEA) during the certification ceremony in DB Schenker’s regional head office in Dubai.

“Congratulations to DB Schenker for this achievement since implementing such integrated certification schemes demand a high-level of commitment to fulfill the scope of the multiple standards within the organization. In parallel, we consider this certification is of importance for TÜV Rheinland as a certification body since it demonstrates our operational capabilities and expands our delivery for certification of management systems services in the India, Middle East, and Africa region.” said Mr. Andreas Höfer.

In line with the current COVID-19 Pandemic, TÜV Rheinland is currently offering remote Audits for most of the certification schemes such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or ISO 27001, as per global and local accreditation guidelines.

This is part of our ongoing precautionary measures to maintain social distancing and cautiously avoid the virus spread by having our independent auditors perform specific sections of the audit program remotely using platforms like Skype or Webex.
