Indonesia’s Focus on Vehicle Quality and Safety

“Wheel testing for L Category automobiles is one of TÜV Rheinland’s services intended to safeguard consumers from accidents. Thoroughly tested vehicle components are much safer and also enhance the ease of approval for the vehicle to be certified to run on the road,” said Mr. I Nyoman Susila, Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland Indonesia. “As a leading independent international provider of technical services for testing, inspection, certification, consultation, and training, TÜV Rheinland’s Tire Testing Laboratory will support the demand while meeting the quality and safety needs of our customers – in the country, around the region, and across the globe.”
A Commitment to Excellence in Testing
The laboratory is managed by professional engineers and is equipped with advance testing machines. For wheel testing and inspection, the laboratory provides a Radial Fatigue Test Machine for Rim Rolling Tests. This is a fatigue test that allows the evaluation of a rolling wheel’s resistance under a load condition to demonstrate the strength sufficiency of the rim. More than 250 SNI certificates have been released for wheel and tire manufactures.
TÜV Rheinland has been active in the Indonesian market since 1980. After establishing its office in Jakarta in 1996, TÜV Rheinland Indonesia has since launched homologation services for automotive components in 1998, and received accreditation from KAN for SNI certification (LSPr-026) in 2009. Three years later, TÜV Rheinland Indonesia established an electricity safety lab and wheel laboratory in 2012. Recently, it also launched the first independent tire testing laboratory in Indonesia, located in Taman Tekno BSD, South Tangerang.
