TÜV Rheinland, a global leader in independent technical services announced that its EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) Testing Laboratory located at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone Limited (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam has been accredited in accordance with International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for the competence of EMC testing services by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).  This accreditation demonstrates technical competence for a defined scope and the operation of a laboratory quality management system which is essential to gain entry into international markets especially the US market and retain customer and consumer confidence.

This world-class facility is equipped with state-of-the-art 10m semi-anechoic chamber to support customers with their regulatory and non-regulatory testing requirements. The facility is operated round the clock by experienced and qualified experts, enabling service delivery with quick turnaround times and expected quality.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Thomas Fuhrmann, Managing Director, TÜV Rheinland India said, “This accreditation emphasizes TÜV Rheinland’s ability to provide accurate feedback and maintain high standards which the management and employees can rely on for planning and decision making.” He added, “TÜV Rheinland’s accredited laboratory for testing services enables stakeholders in the supply chain to create medical devices and other products that comply with global safety and quality standards. This expansion in the accreditation scope further builds on TUV Rheinland’s key strengths – quality services at competitive pricing, delivered within faster turnaround times.”

Mr. Kalyan Varma, Vice President, TÜV Rheinland India said, “Since India is a non-Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) country, products which require Federal Communication Committee (FCC) compliance need additional evaluation outside India.  A2LA Accreditation will help to perform testing locally and can be a one-stop-shop solution for entry into international markets.  This has been our first major achievement at our facilities in AMTZ and has been accredited much ahead of schedule.  The labs are now fully functional and offer our full range of testing services. With this addition and with our existing lab network in India, we offer comprehensive testing services for all kinds of products including medical devices for the international market, while meeting new regulations in India.”

Mr. Ravindra Kumar Business Stream, Global Head of EMC Laboratories, TÜV Rheinland said, “With this large EMC facility in the eastern part of India, TÜV Rheinland establishes its EMC Laboratory footprint across all four corners of the country. This facility will serve our huge base of customers in this part of the country as well as customers from other parts.” He added, "This semi-anechoic chamber at AMTZ is the largest EMC laboratory within TÜV Rheinland globally."

This accreditation is in line with TUV Rheinland’s values of Integrity, Excellence, Performance, Customer Orientation, and Agility, which are the main pillars behind its services and success.
