Brief background prior to engaging TUV Rheinland:
Before Maynilad approached TÜV Rheinland, they had engaged a separate consultancy to aid in the establishment of BCMS. In due course, they found that we were among some of the accredited vendors suitable for the cause – plus we had been their partner since 2010 for other certifications i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001, ISO 20000-1, and ISO 14064.
Process and Outcome
The journey toward attaining certification for ISO 22301 was easy for Maynilad, considering our past work together. While there were certain delays in the commencement of the audit, Maynilad turned out to be satisfied with our customer service, finding our auditors competent in the field of BCMS. They found our responses and coordination prompt and decisive, particularly in the lead up to their certification.
Compared to securing other certifications, Maynilad found BCMS to be more challenging, considering the extensive testing and simulation involved for Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
How the certification has added value to the organization
On top of BCMS, the Maynilad Integrated Management System (IMS) was certified by TÜV Rheinland as well. This particular certification provided enhanced credibility to Maynilad, which is the largest water company in terms of customer base in the Philippines.
Maynilad have continued to achieve their yearly targets & KPIs, and has strengthened its compliance to legalities and regulatory requirements.
Our biggest plus point for them turned out to be our wide range of competent auditors, with scopes that covered their critical needs like water and wastewater services.
