2017 Market Access Outlook

TUV Rheinland will continue to focus on digitalization, energy and infrastructure, and supply chain services like Market Access Services (MAS). We will continue to provide information on country requirements for global markets.

In 2017, our MAS efforts education and update you on specific country regulations and important information for different global markets. Our efforts will feature videos, blogs, newsletters, infographics and other materials to support our customers. Each month we will focus on different countries and regions, including South America, the Middle East, Japan, China, North America, and Russia.

Here is a quick country update to start off the year!


Country Standards Changing Effective Date:

China

SRD (Short Rang Device -Low power) will not need SRRC (State Radio Regulation of China); including WiFi (2.4G,5.8G,5.1G), BT, 2.4G (spread spectrum) Dec. 1st, 2016

South Africa

Negotiations for SABS (South African Bureau of Standards) certificate of conformity are ongoing  

Mexico

NOM-208-SCFI-2016 will be the new standard related to all WiFi and BT devices, and will replace the emergency standard from this year, NOM-EM-016 (formally known as as NOM-121). NOM-EM-016 expired Oct. 16th, 2016. 

Gulf Standards Org. (GSO)

For electrical devices, be aware of GSO standards (conform closely to EU regulations, but include some variations).  

India

TUV Rheinland India is the leading lab for BIS certification
