The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is expanding the use of renewable energies in the region. In line with this, they are establishing the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which is expected to reach a maximum capacity of 5 GW by 2030.

To ensure the success of this 11 billion Euros project, DEWA required a reliable, experienced research and development partner for PV module testing.

DEWA chose TÜV Rheinland, who installed several measurement sites for extended PV module testing. Among the many state-of-the-art test units built is the unique Building-Integrated PV Cube (BIPVCube), which is a first-of-its-kind testing facility that continuously collects and transfers data to a global acquisition system for decentralised monitoring by the DEWA team.
